帅克从外表上看去胖乎乎的，有点傻里傻气，实际上他性情憨厚、心地善良耿直、喜欢直话直aaa。在第一次世界大战期间，帅克自告奋勇去从军，但又被认为是装疯卖傻。由于偶然的机会，他成为了奥匈帝国军队神甫的传令员，不久又被神甫因赌博输给了卢卡什中尉，成为了中尉的传令员。帅克成天为卢卡什中尉玩弄妇女跑前跑后的服务。他还为了讨卢卡什中尉的喜欢，稀里糊涂的把将军的狗偷回来了，因而引起了将军的勃然大怒，闯下了大祸。结果帅克和卢卡什一起被调往前线。在火车上他又再次惹怒了将军。又错拉了火车停车信号器，被列车员罚款，拉下去见站长，结果因为没带证件被德军抓进司令部，等他出来，火车已经开走，他只好徒步去追赶部队。
